Grilled Pineapple Dessert



Pineapples are members of the bromeliad family, and one of the few bromeliads to produce edible fruit. It is actually made of many individual berries that fuse together around a central core. Each pineapple scale is an individual berry. Pineapples have exceptional juiciness and a vibrant tropical flavor that balances the tastes of sweet and tart.
Pineapples contain high amounts of vitamin C, manganese and thiamin, a B vitamin that is involved in energy production.
Their health and medicinal benefits include their ability to improve respiratory health, cure coughs and colds, improve digestion, help you lose weight, strengthen bones, improve oral health, boost eye health reduce inflammation, prevent cancer, increase heart health, fight off infections and parasites, improve the immune system, and increase circulation.
Pineapple is also a great fruit if you are watching your weight; one cup of pineapple chunks contains only 82 calories. It is also fat-free, cholesterol-free and low in sodium.


Today I am going to share with you a simple dessert made of grilled pineapple and cinnamon honey drizzle. Hope you enjoy it!


Ingredients

-       1 pineapple
-       ¼ cup of honey
-       ½ tsp of cinnamon

Directions

1.    Grill the pineapple slices over medium heat for about 7 minutes.
2.    Soften the honey for 30 seconds in the microwave.
3.    Mix the honey and the cinnamon together in a small mixing bowl.
4.    Drizzle the grilled pineapple with the honey and cinnamon mixture.
5.    Let it cool for while then serve.
